Response from ICO

In a letter received on the 2nd December 2013 the ICO feels unable to proceed with the complaint due to the BBC’s derogation and the bland definition within that of ‘journalism’ as reported here. It appears there is some case law protecting the BBC from revealing very much at all, and on the basis this individual can’t see the information being made public. However, from local and national communications we know that the BBC must have had an awful lot of complaints and will improve its coverage of damaging attacks on the National Health Service, and the resulting protests by the British general public.
